Is Your Mind Keeping You Overweight?

Now here is a little conundrum to have a think about. It may cause you to think now more deeply about the conscious and the unconscious mind.

Losing weight is easy isn’t it? You make a conscious decision to lose weight and your mind follows your conscious instructions. Nothing could be easier could it? Or does something else happen? I wonder if despite your best honest conscious decision to lose weight, or change any other behaviour for that matter, that something takes over. That little voice that says “oh just this once won’t hurt” or “I can start again tomorrow”. How can your mind stop you doing what you consciously want to do? The answer lays with the unconscious mind. The mind is like an iceberg, the conscious mind is that part above the water and the unconscious mind is the vast piece below the water line. Take phobias for instance, the conscious mind can be rational and say ” I know that little spider can not hurt me”, however the conscious mind is over ruled by the unconscious mind which attaches an irrational fear to the spider.

So is your mind keeping you overweight, or more specifically is your unconscious mind over ruling your conscious mind and keeping you overweight.
